Prof. Crenshaw's commentary at the Inaugural Peace Ball in The Huffington Post

AAPF Co-Founder KimberlĂ© Crenshaw  celebrated the historical inauguration of Barack Obama at the Inaugural Peace Ball in Washington, D.C.  on Tuesday, January 20th, 2009. She delivered a speech to commemorate the inauguration, as well as the legacy of Martin Luther King, Jr.

Her speech at the Peace Ball was given additional exposure when Ms. Crenshaw lent her commentary to The Huffington Post. Below is an excerpt:

"This is a remarkable, breathtaking moment for us all. Who can doubt that we are celebrating something special here — there’s something in the air that we can feel, touch, grasp. There’s hope in this moment, a sense of possibility that elevates our joy. Yet for those of us who are advocates for peace, freedom, equality and fairness — this heady moment challenges us to keep our eyes on the prize…."
