Prof Crenshaw Speaks at Inaugural Peace Ball

Professor KimberlĂ© Crenshaw will be celebrating the historical inauguration of Barack Obama at the Inaugural Peace Ball in Washington D.C. where she will be delivering a speech to commemorate the inauguration as well as the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr.  The Ball , sponsored by Busboys and Poets and the Smithsonian Postal Museum , will feature guest appearances and performances by Joan Baez , Bernice Johnson Reagon & Toshi Reagon , Michael Franti & Spearhead , Angelique Kidjo , Fertile Ground and more. Additionally , other attendees include playwright Eve Ensler , author Alice Walker , and many other peacemakers throughout the globe.  As a special guest to the Inaugural Peace Ball , Professor Crenshaw will be speaking about the legacy of Martin Luther King Jr. and the racial justice origins of the Peace Movement.   Her speech will recount and honor the civil rights movement , capturing the energy and inspiring role that MLK played throughout the movement.
